_WORLD WATCH______________________________ Salvation Army on trial A court hearing that could result in the liquidation of the Moscow branch of the Salvation Army has been adjourned until September. The Moscow government says the Salvation Army did not register on time under the federal registration law for religious groups, and failed to report its activities to authorities. The group originally sought registration in 1999 but was rejected, at which time it brought the case to the European Human Rights Court in Strasbourg, which has agreed to hear it. The Salvation Army then failed to meet the December 31, 2000, re-registration deadline, but the leaders of the group claim they were in constant contact with authorities.
